Discover the House and Grounds with our new children's illustrated trail book featuring Geoffrey the Lion, which is given out free of charge to all young visitors. It includes two self-guided trails of the House and Grounds, plus word searches and puzzles, as well as a picture to take home and colour in.
Young visitors – however lively or inquisitive – are warmly welcomed inside the house. The child-friendly guides will spark youngsters’ interest as they discover each room through the characters and stories of previous generations. Due to the narrow doorways and corridors they do not allow pushchairs inside the house. These can be stored safely at the house entrance, where 'hip seats' can be borrowed for children up to 2 years of age.
Jump on the land-train and go wild down at the Lakeside Adventure Playground. It features 17 high energy, confidence building pieces of equipment, and is suitable for children of all ages - parents included! Or catch the boat and set sail across the Great Lake to spot the wildlife living on its shores (summer only - weather permitting).
Picnics and games are permitting inside the parkland, and families have a choice of cafés so there is something to suit all tastes and budgets.
